This rare contract in three pages is Elvis Presley's hand signed original contract for Elvis Presley's motion picture Follow That Dream based on the book "Pioneer, Go Home"

This contract written from United Artists Corporation to Mr Elvis Presley c/o William Morris Agency, Inc.151 El Camino Drive Beverly Hills, California. referring to an agreement between Elvis Presley and The Mirisch Company, Inc. (herein called the Producer) as of July 26th 1960, relating to Elvis' employment in the photoplay tentatively entitled "PIONEER, GO HOME which was later re-titled FOLLOW THAT DREAM.
 
This United Artists Corporation contract goes on for three pages with all the legalities and great detail of the financial details of Elvis Presley's employment of the photoplay. Near the bottom of page three its written,' Please constitute the foregoing a binding agreement by signing at the place indicated below, very truly yours UNITED ARTISTS CORPORATION

This contract is typed on "onion skin" paper and is dated 8/23/60-5c (10). It is hand signed by Elvis Presley, Marvin E. Mirisch of the production Company Mirisch Co, and the Vice-President of United Artists Corporation. Three signatures at the bottom of page three.

"Pioneer, Go Home! is a satirical novel by Richard P. Powell, first published in 1959. The novel follows a New Jersey family, The Kwimpers, who relocate to Columbiana, a fictional state that resembles Florida, and squat on the side of a highway where a new bridge is being built, outraging local officials. The book was adapted into a play by Herman Raucher and also an Elvis Presley movie, Follow that Dream."


"Follow That Dream is a 1962 musical film starring Elvis Presley. The movie, based on the novel Pioneer, Go Home! by Richard P. Powell, follows the family of Toby Kwimper ( Elvis Presley ) traveling in Florida. A vagabond clan who are headed by Toby's father ( actor Arthur O'Connell ) who gives a great performance, and revolves around the family squatting on Florida highway land and in the end, Toby's earthy wits and family resolve winning praise and their new land and home." 

 

Elvis had his natural brown hair colour and sung some very beautiful songs including, Follow that dream, Angel, I'm not the marrying kind and What a wonderful life. Many fans favourite Elvis film.
